Summary

  • Website: a static website without cookies, analytics, tracking, advertising, scripts or embedded third-party content. The hosting provider necessarily processes technical connection data to deliver the pages.
  • App: no account or sign-up. Settings, scores and game progress are stored locally on your device. PaddiPop does not operate its own servers for the app and the developer has not added custom analytics or tracking.
  • Advertising: the app shows ads from Google. Google Mobile Ads and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) process data such as your IP address and device information. Your consent choices, where applicable, affect how ads are delivered.
  • Purchases: the optional “Remove Ads” purchase is processed by Apple. PaddiPop does not receive your payment details.

1. This website

Hosting and server data

This website consists of static pages and is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, a service provided by Microsoft. When you open a page, your browser automatically sends technical information that is required to deliver the page, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested address, and – depending on your browser – browser type, operating system and referring page.

This data is processed by the hosting provider to deliver the website and to keep it secure and available. The hosting provider may record such data in its own technical logs in accordance with its own practices. We have not added visitor statistics, analytics or monitoring tools to this website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

No cookies, tracking or third-party content

The pages of this website do not set cookies, do not use local storage or session storage, do not run scripts, and do not load fonts, images, videos, maps, social media widgets or other content from third parties. Because of this, there is no cookie banner.

Some pages contain links to other websites (for example, Google or Apple privacy information). No data is sent to those sites unless you choose to follow a link; their own privacy policies then apply.

Contacting us by email

If you email us, we process your email address, the content of your message and any details you choose to share (such as device model or app version) to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The support mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail), so Google processes these emails as the email service provider. We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request and to comply with any statutory retention obligations.

2. The PaddiPop app

What PaddiPop does not do

  • No account, registration, login, profile, chat or online multiplayer.
  • No access to your contacts, camera, microphone or precise location is requested.
  • PaddiPop does not operate its own servers for the app, and the developer has not added custom analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
  • PaddiPop does not ask for your age.

Data stored on your device

PaddiPop stores the following information locally on your device so the game works as expected:

  • settings such as sound effects and haptics;
  • best scores, challenge progress and stars, unlocked Vs CPU levels, and your selected Free Play speed.

This information is not sent to the developer. It remains on your device until you delete the app. It may be included in device backups depending on your device settings. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the game’s features (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); storing this information on your device is strictly necessary to provide the game you use.

Third-party services in the app

The app contains software from Google (for advertising and consent management, see section 3) and uses Apple’s StoreKit for in-app purchases (see section 4).

3. Google Mobile Ads and Google UMP

The free version of PaddiPop shows advertising delivered by Google through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). Consent and privacy choices are handled by Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. Depending on your location, the provider is Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC.

Consent check when the app starts

Each time PaddiPop starts, the UMP SDK contacts Google to find out whether a consent or privacy message is required for you. Where required under the applicable configuration and law, a Google consent form may be displayed. Your choices are stored on your device by the UMP SDK. In the current app version, this consent check also takes place after you have purchased “Remove Ads”.

When ads are requested

PaddiPop only starts the Google Mobile Ads SDK and requests ads if Google’s consent information allows ads to be requested and “Remove Ads” has not been purchased. Banner ads appear on the Home screen and results screens, not during active gameplay. Full-screen ads may appear occasionally between rounds.

Data Google may process

When the Google SDKs are used, Google may process, among other things:

  • your IP address and an approximate location derived from it;
  • device and operating system information, app information, and identifiers where available;
  • information about ads shown and your interaction with them (for example, views and taps);
  • diagnostic and performance information;
  • your consent status.

Whether ads are personalised depends on your consent choices, your region and Google’s settings. PaddiPop does not ask for permission to track you under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT). Without that permission, iOS does not give the app access to your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA). PaddiPop requests ads suitable for a general audience (maximum ad content rating “G”).

Legal basis, transfers and more information

Where the law requires consent – for example for storing or accessing information on your device, or for personalised advertising – the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, in Germany, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (see Privacy Choices). Otherwise, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in funding a free game through advertising and in handling consent correctly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Google may process data outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. For information on safeguards for such transfers, data retention and how Google uses data, please refer to Google’s own information:

After purchasing “Remove Ads”

Once “Remove Ads” is active, PaddiPop no longer requests ads, and from the next app start it does not start the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The Google software remains part of the app, and the UMP consent check described above continues to run when the app starts.

4. Apple, the App Store and StoreKit

PaddiPop is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes data in connection with downloads, your Apple Account and purchases under its own responsibility and privacy policy.

  • “Remove Ads” purchase: “Remove Ads” is an optional one-time (non-consumable) in-app purchase made through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. PaddiPop does not receive your payment card or billing details.
  • Unlocking and restoring: on your device, the app uses Apple’s StoreKit to load the localized price, to check and verify your purchase, and to restore it when you tap Restore Purchases. Restoring may ask you to sign in with your Apple Account.
  • Apple analytics: if you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated usage and crash information under Apple’s terms.

More information: Apple Privacy Policy (external link).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right, subject to the legal requirements, to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77), in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence or place of work.

Because PaddiPop does not maintain user accounts and does not receive your game data, we usually cannot identify you or retrieve app data about you. For data processed by Google or Apple, you can also contact those providers directly. For privacy questions, email paddipop.support@gmail.com.

Children

PaddiPop is a casual game for a general audience. It is not specifically directed at children and is not part of the App Store’s Kids category. PaddiPop does not ask for or infer a user’s age.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the website, the app or the services used change. The current version is always available on this page.

Keine Cookies, kein Tracking, keine Inhalte Dritter

2. Die PaddiPop-App

Was PaddiPop nicht tut

  • Einstellungen wie Soundeffekte und Haptik;

  • Ihre IP-Adresse und einen daraus abgeleiteten ungefähren Standort;
  • Geräte- und Betriebssysteminformationen, App-Informationen sowie Kennungen, soweit verfügbar;
  • Informationen über angezeigte Werbung und Ihre Interaktion damit (zum Beispiel Einblendungen und Antippen);
  • Diagnose- und Leistungsdaten;
  • Ihren Einwilligungsstatus.
